Thinking about upgrading

I'm currently driving an '09 Subaru Forester that's been solid for the most part, it's handled snow, road trips, and daily errands like a champ, but now I feel like a cheat for debating whether to upgrade to a newer model or look at something entirely different, heard some things about the newer gens, both positive and negative but what y'all think? and which would you recommend, not in any rush though.

Newer models have better tech and safety, but i've heard mixed things about CVT issues and repair costs. If you're not in a rush , maybe wait and see or check out other reliable SUVs too. What's most important to you in your next ride? Its always good to review factors and priorities
