Suspension upgrade gone wrong

I recently replaced the front and rear struts and springs on my forester to freshen things up, but I'm noticing the ride feels stiffer than expected almost harsh over uneven roads. I'm wondering is it just the new components settling in or if I may have missed something during the install like torque specs, preload, Has anyone run into this after a suspension refresh Would appreciate any insight before I start pulling things apart again

Did you go OEM springs or aftermarket ones? Different spring rate will change the stiffness of the ride. Also, are you sure everything is tightened and torqued to spec?

How did you go about tightening everything, did you torque the suspension components while the car was still in the air, or did you do it with the weight on the wheels?
