Got a 2019 Forester Premium and planning to replace the front rotors myself. Some say they're super sensitive and easy to damage. Anyone here done this and can share what really happens?
no experience with the Forester, but I've replaced a few rotors in my life and they can all be sensitive to damage or scratching. With that said, they're not made of cardboard, so it's not like you'll cause damage just by handling them. I'd say find a repair manual or check out some youtube videos to see if it's something you'd be comfortable doing yourself.
I replaced the front rotors on my 2019 Forester Premium last fall. No major issues, just needed to be careful with the caliper bolts and torque specs. The rotors themselves aren't unusually sensitive, but like any modern setup, it's smart to avoid hammering or forcing parts. A good torque wrench and some brake cleaner go a long way. If you've done basic brake jobs before, this one's pretty straightforward.
