My Forester Dumb Move of the Month

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to wash my Forester in the driveway. I wanted to give it a thorough cleaning, so I propped the hood open and got to work.

After I finished up, dried everything off, and closed the hood, I completely forgot I had a microfiber towel sitting on the engine cover.

The next morning, I drove to work like any other day. About halfway there, I started to smell something strange, so I popped the hood at a stoplight. What do you know? There was my towel, half-melted and stuck to the intake manifold.

I had to use a stick from a landscaping bed to scrape the mess off.

What's your "wow, that was dumb" Forester story?

@forestbeastmode25 Haha, a melted towel is pretty wild! I got one 'dumb' moment with the Forester myself. I was doing an oil change, pouring in the new oil, and then completely forgetting to put the oil cap back on.
Drove around for a day, smelled something weird, popped the hood to see oil splattered all over the engine bay. Definitely a facepalm moment and a messy cleanup!
