Inconsistent Dipstick Reading

Not sure if others have run into this, but I've been having trouble getting an accurate oil level reading on my '17 with 90k miles. Every time I check the dipstick, I get conflicting readings, sometimes one side shows full while the other barely shows anything, I've tried checking it cold, warm, after a short wait, after a long wait… still can't seem to get a clear, consistent level.
I mean I do oil changes regularly, and I've checkd for leaks but I dont think I'm seeing any and the car runs okay otherwise, its just that dipstick I need to be able to read well because its becoming a wee bit more annoying each time
What are your thoughts and suggestions please,

Had that same dipstick issue on my Forester, best luck came checking warm, after 5–10 minutes parked on level ground. Subaru dipsticks are weird, so always read both sides and average it.

How are you positioning the dipstick when you check, are you pulling it straight out after a clean insert, and is the car on level ground each time?

So you're getting inconsistent readings a few minutes apart or in general?
